2nd Annual Virtual International Distance Learning Initiative Courses Summer Session 2022

UNDP’s Africa Bureau and the Office of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Development & International Cooperation (OHBCUD) are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Virtual Courses on Economic Transformation in Africa & the African Diaspora.

Using distance learning technologies, a select number of HBCUs will offer a suite of courses that will be open to promising students and professionals living and working in Africa.

These courses aim to promote SDG #4: “ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning,” and strengthen academic and sociocultural goals among universities across the African continent and beyond to advance educational outcomes for all persons of African descent.

Application details

Applicants must be:

  • Africa-based development practitioners (including graduate students)
  • Holder of earned degrees from an accredited university
  • Able to fully participate in on-line learning
  • Motivated to promote the attainment of the SDGs in Africa

  1. an application statement – no more than 500 words
  2. a recent CV
  3. ranking of preferred course/courses
  4. copy of university diploma(s)

This collaboration will not only advance quality education for all persons of African descent, but to use this collective academic, research, and institutional platform as an additional opportunity for advancing achievement of all SDGs. To reach these objectives, this initiative will be informed by UNDP’s Strategic Offer in Africa, with a special focus on the six strategic impact areas that will accelerate achievement of the SDGs.
